Santa Barbara Car Free

Santa Barbara Car Free is a cooperative initiative led by the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District, with many other partners. This project was originally called Take a Vacation from Your Car.

Our goal is to encourage car free, carefree transportation to, and around, Santa Barbara, to promote cleaner air. The program has received a grant of federal transportation monies, and is currently using existing promotional tools and developing new ones to help tourists and residents "take a vacation from their cars."
